The Good Samaritan Project takes Jesus' story of the Good Samaritan and puts it into action. Each month a congregant gets $100 dollars and with that money finds help and meets the need. Perhaps they find 10 people to help with $10 each or they help 1 person with $100 dollars. At the end of the month they come back and share their story. In this way we are living the gospel by helping those in need and creating relationship and connection.

4/5/13: I want to write this out because my computer is going to be in a box over the next couple of days. Next week will include an update. As many of you know, my second job is as a server at a Cajun restaurant in the heart of Hiram, Georgia. One of the servers is a young lady who is eight months pregnant. Her boyfriend works contract positions in another state and she is about to go on leave in preparation to give birth and be a mother. As part of the Good Samaritan Project this month I purchased two boxes of diapers, a box of wipes and butt paste for her. I personally have 3-12 month clothes for her as well. (Two trash bags full.) Tomorrow I will bring it to her.I will update once I am back online. (Until then consider donating for next month's gift.) 4/16/13: The mother was very grateful for the gifts of Fig Tree Christian. The gift will be very helpful in the future.
